Which of Your Twitter Followers Should You Follow?
Posted by Antone Roundy under Social Media3 Comments
Yesterday, I wrote about how to identify influential Twitterers who are possible to engage in conversation. I wanted to add a little to that — how to identify which of your own followers you should be following — here’s the process:
- If you don’t already have a Fauxlowers.com profile, create one and fill in your settings so that we can generate a “best followers and fauxlowers” table for you:

- Click through to the Twitter profiles of your best followers and fauxlowers and see if they:
- Post interesting tweets
- Reply to and retweet others
- If so, follow them and start replying to and retweeting their tweets.
Don’t make a nuisance of yourself by overdoing it — you’re not going to score points with anybody that way. The point is to find people who are using Twitter as social media, and not just as a mailing list to send promos to. To engage those people, you’ve got to use Twitter as social media too.
One final point — as I mentioned yesterday, the bold links in the table link to Fauxlowers.com profiles. Don’t just look at your own best followers and fauxlowers — click through to your followers’ profiles and check out theirs — you may find some good people to follow and engage their too.

Easy ways to return the favor of writing this blog post for you:
